A great deal has been written and said about the parlous state of the Cape Town travel industry. Stories abound of beds left empty, guesthouses closed and auctioned off. In one case a guesthouse is closed simply because they can’t pay the electricity bill!
At Abbey Manor winter has certainly been a bit slower than usual, but not by a big margin, so we have had no complaints.
Now Spring has arrived, and we are on the road to the best October ever, with a projected occupancy of 78%.
One of the biggest changes we have seen is that more short-term bookings are coming in. As a result, we are having to, regretfully, turn away a lot of business.
