OK I’m a bit late on this one, but it needs to be noted.
Tripadvisor, by far the world’s biggest travel reference site, has just announced it’s 2012 Traveller’s Choice awards, and, yes, Cape Town has been recognised as the best destination in the world. Of course, we have been saying this for years, but it is wonderful to have it confirmed by actual travellers.
Sydney Australia came in second, with Machu Picchu third.
The Phoenix Resort, San Pedro, Belize was recognised as the world’s best hotel.
